In 1962, Breitling received an unexpected call that would cement its place in history. Scott Carpenter, one of NASA’s Mercury Seven astronauts, reached out to Willy Breitling with a special request—a custom Navitimer for his groundbreaking space mission. The result, later named the Navitimer Cosmonaute, accompanied Carpenter as he orbited Earth three times, making it the first Swiss wristwatch in space.
