The first Da Vinci was launched by IWC in 1969. The BETA21 movement, which was modern at the time (21 stands for the number of companies involved in its development), was the first quartz movement to be developed in Switzerland. The integrated bracelet and the solid case are impressive in their design. The luminous material on the inidces and hands visible in the pictures was applied by a previous owner. A rare milestone in the history of IWC, fewer than 100 watches are said to have been produced in yellow gold
